OBJECTIVE
To teach the younger generation about the importance of keeping Singapore clean and litter free as well as the importance of recycling. It is essential to impart such knowledge onto them at a young age.
PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY
Storytelling
[if !supportLists]- [endif]A narration of the stories Stubborn Stacy and Responsible Roy
[if !supportLists]- [endif]To engage the children through an interesting and interactive skit put up by our very own group members to teach them the importance of maintaining a clean environment
Games
Board game
Mini games and quizzes on environmental protection
To teach the children to pick up rubbish from the ground and throw them into the rubbish bin
Recycle game
To teach the children how to differentiate between the different types of recyclables (e.g. paper, plastic, cans, etc)
REFLECTIONS
Although the children were sometimes uncooperative and hyperactive, with patience and determination, we were able to calm them down. It was an enriching and fulfilling experience for all of us and we were glad that the children there had benefitted from our activities, and had learnt the importance of environmental protection and recycling, making our project a success! Perhaps the kindergarteners might grow up to teach their juniors about environmental protection too!
