The school’s vision is Bringing Out the Best in Our People: Social Innovators, Passionate Learners. The Cedar Social Innovation  (CSI) Programme aims to inspire students to become social innovators with the passion, attributes and ability to design innovative solutions to social problems.

Using Design Thinking as the approach, the Programme helps students gain a deeper understanding of social issues, and develop empathy and a desire to impact the community positively. It aims to develop and hone students’ innovative capacity, equipping them with essential creative problem-solving skills so that they can design breakthrough solutions to real problems in the fast-changing and increasingly complex 21st-century world.

The learning outcomes of the Programme are:

• Students will acquire a deep appreciation of and concern for social issues. They will actively seek to create innovative solutions to better meet real needs in society.

 

• Students will learn to become integrative thinkers, who are able to bring together knowledge and skills from different subject areas and apply them in exciting and inspiring ways to create solutions to meet existing needs.

 

• Students will develop skills to be effective team players, who know how to combine their strengths with the capabilities of others to solve real societal problems.

 

• Students will become responsible problem-solvers. They will always ensure that their solution meets real needs.
