purpose of our visit

  • To teach young children about the importance of having a clean neighbourhood and “no littering”

  • To educate the children on the ways to maintain a clean and hygienic environment

  • To enrich our understanding of the issues faced during community service and thus help us better serve society in future endeavours as social innovators

overview of activities planned

  1. Storytelling (Stubborn Stacy)

  2. Game (Sort the Treasure!)

  3. Storytelling (Responsible Roy)

  4. Colouring activity (Colouring is fun!)

details of the game: sort the treasure!

Aim: to pick up the newspapers from the ground and place them into the correct ‘bin’.

  • Bins are represented by pails

- 3 pails will be labelled using a picture of the item (glass, plastic and aluminium cans)

- Example: the pail for glass will have the word “glass” and a picture of a glass bottle.

  • The newspapers will be crushed and painted beforehand

- the colour of the newspaper corresponds to the colour of the bin

- during the game, they will be scattered around the room

thank you.
