LOOK WHAT’S THAT?
Is it a school having their cross country on the streets?
Is it some joggers having their morning runs?
OH NO, it’s just 3O running their way to St.Luke’s Elderly Care Centre in excitement!!!
STAGE 1: BUILDING EMPATHY
The organisation which we will be working with is St. Luke Elderly Care Centre (Serangoon)
It’s purpose is to actively engage the elderly in both physical and mental activities that promote an active, purposeful and healthy lifestyle to prepare them for successful ageing.
The services are also designed to benefit the elderly who have suffered from physical disabilities as a result of stroke, fall or accidents, as well as the frail and and lonely who have no one at home to look after them during working hours.

DAYCARE

WELLNESS
So far, we have visited the centre twice to observe the conditions and facilities for the elderly and speak to the person-in-charge over at the centre about how a day usually goes about in the centre for the elderly. From all our gatherings, we’ve managed to deduce that :
The elderly at the centre do not interact with one another enough;
and that the place does not feel homely to them
