The organisation that we are currently working with is Ciyuan Community Club (also known as CCC), which offers a range of recreational activities for elderlies to go to, as well as a food court for the people living around the area to patronise.
We understand that elderlies need some recreational activities to keep them active and at the same time allow them to be outside of their houses and let them enjoy themselves.
Therefore, looking at the needs of our users, we decided to carry out two parts to our CSI project. The first part would be holding a mini-carnival to interact with the elderly and have fun with them! This is as we feel that our target group of elderlies lack interaction with the youth of today, and hence we are planning to make use of CSI to forge the bridge between the elderlies and the youth – us ッ The second part would be inviting a chinese opera troupe down to perform for the elderly and entertain them, as we felt that some of them would enjoy this activity.
To understand the site that we will be carrying out our CSI on the 25th of May, we have made two trips down to Ciyuan Community Club to check out the site and decided where we are going to carry out our carnival, we have also sat down to discuss with the community club’s in-charge as well as the head of their youth committee as this is a student-initiated project that involves youths. As of now, we have to finalise the game booths as well as prototype and test our games on a small group of elderly. At the same time, we will be giving out some of our souvenirs to these elderly as we are planning to give away some of these souvenirs as prizes of the carnival to the elderly. Hence, we would want to know how well they received the souvenirs.
Below are some images that we took at the CCC over our two visits there!

PS spot mag!!!!! This picture was taken during our first (night!!!!) visit to CCC, when we were choosing which locations to use to carry out our chinese opera show as well as where to hold our carnival for the elderly. This is currently the venue that the chinese opera troop will be performing for our elderly.

Recently, just last Monday (12 March 16), we made a second trip down to Ciyuan Community Club to finalise and check with them on our ideas.

Also, this is a rough image of the venue that we will be holding our mini-carnival for the elderly. Here is mag touching the whiteboard HAHA.
